Gunn IMS (CGIMS), Acupuncture (CAFCI), Pre and post Natal fitness (PPFS), Manual therapy (FCAMPT)

Hi I am Suzanne Hood, a registered physiotherapist based in North Vancouver, BC. My journey began over 27 years ago at the University of Western Ontario where I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy (BSc.PT). I earned a previous degree in Psychology at the University of British Columbia (BA Psych) in 1996.
My career moved me to a Sports Medicine Clinic in Calgary, AB in 2002 where I completed my Orthopedic Manual Therapy Levels. I also pursued an Advanced Manual Therapy Series which included the craniovertebral and TMJ regions; cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine regions; and the treatment of muscle and neural tension. During this time I also completed my Acupuncture training (AFCI).
Upon returning to British Columbia in 2005, I advanced my Acupuncture training and completed my Intramuscular Stimulation (Gunn IMS, 2005). Other accreditations and courses I have pursued in the last 20 years include:
-
The Running Clinic: The Prevention of Running Injuries (2009)
-

Born and raised on the North Shore, I can be found in the mountains- running, scrambling, skiing (downhill [Level 1 CSIA], skate, and backcountry) hiking, and mountain biking. I also volunteer with Trail Whisperer Race Series and Run Clinics on weekends. When not in the mountains I enjoy water activities such as open water swimming and paddling boarding.
My special interests include: orthopedics, prevention of sports injuries, running and coaching/training plans, designing core stability, strength and endurance programs for multisport athletes and the fitness enthused individual, spinal rehabilitation, chronic pain, TMJ dysfunction, and pre/postnatal fitness.
I use a broad range of evidence -based techniques to get an individual back to doing what they enjoy. I love to work with clients of all ages to help them live their full potential and lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
